Rent

I have been offered a teaching job with ADVETI.
I have looked at the rental cost of properties and they were very expensive. I am hoping to pay between 40,000 to 45,000 for a two bedroom and was wondering if this is possible.

I will either work in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, so will look for properties in those areas.

Do you think I could find a property in that range?

Would you all be kind enough to get back to me with some info?

Your comments would be very helpful.

Hi Kandy,
I live in AbuDhabi and had been actively looking for rent houses from couple of months. Let me be straight with you, you wont get 2BHK any where in Abu Dhabi for 45k and not even 1 BHK but yes if you are lucky you will get it in a Villa. Villas will have many suprises like not approved by the municipality, contract cannot be used to sponsor your spouse etc.

So strictly talking a rental apartment will cost you
1 BHK not less than 60K
2 BHK not less than 75K
2 BHK (furnished)   90K

Keep checking

Good luck, Cheers, Yusuf.

Yusuf thanks very much for getting back to me, and with such useful info! You said villas might have surprises, I'm not sure what you meant? Do you mine explaining a bit?

I think I will go for the villa. Good luck in your search, I hope you will find somewhere nice and affordable!

Cheers

hi kandy,
you can find a partitioned apartment in a villa for around 60k for 2 bedroom hall and around 45k for 1 bedroom hall. There are some problems involved with villas as the municipality rule is one villa, one family but the owners here partition villas to accomodate more tenants. if u are planning to live in a villa you have to make sure that the villa is baladiya approved.

Asim thank you so much. I wouldn't have known this!("baladiya approved"), I will do some research to understand the policy.

When I arrive to Dubai/Abu Dhaubi, I will stay in a hotel for five days. On the sixth day I am hoping to find my own accommodation, do you think that realistic?

Kind regards

Kandy, finding accomdation of your choice within a week is very hard if not impossible. I would suggest you speak to your employer and stretch  the initial accomdation to atleast 2 weeks. I hope you have already made some contacts here so they can be of great help when you are new here.
