What are the the annual National Holidays in Norway?   For which holidays do businesses and schools close and for how long?

Hello Bethesda.

Hope you'll get some replies soon.

Thanks

Karen :)

The red days are public holidays, and more or less everything is closed on those days.  Restaurants, bars and cafes may stay open, but don't bet your life on it.

Some business close down for "fellesferie", which is the last three weeks in july.  Most businesses have fewer staff over the summer in any case.

I'm not too sure about the exact date for schools (and it may vary from region to region), but they get a week in autumn, a week at christmas, a week for skiing around february, a week for easter, and a long summer holiday.
