Furnished apartment

Post new topic

Hi,

I have just secured a contract in Berlin for the next 6 - 12 months. I've trawled the web but am struggling to find an apartment that isn't aimed at short term tourists (nightly rent).

I've been told that people don't tend to use agents but as a non german speaker and with little knowledge of the area(s) in Berlin, I'm reluctant to contact anyone via a classified ad.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks

Chris

Hello babybrianb, my suggestion would be maybe to use a relocation agency of that type ?

If you don't want to contact landlords yourself (e.g. through classified ads), you have to let someone else (e.g. property or relocation agency) and pay their fees (usually 1 - 3 months rent, plus tax).
Please also keep in mind that furnished apartments are rare and cost quite a lot more than empty ones, and that most landlords prefer long-term tenants and are not interested in just a few months.

Have you checked airbnb.com? They sometimes have long term apartments.
