working and living in Montreal with a Working holiday visa

Post new topic

nickenineke

hello everybody,

We are a couple from belgium and we are looking to live and work in Montreal for a year with a working holiday visa.
We did this in Australia before and earned a lot of money.

Now we would like to know if it would be possible to earn a lot of money in Montreal aswell? Can anybody tell us what the normal hourly rate is in Montreal ( for work in hotels, restaurants,bars,...)?

Does anybody know if this is a good time to look for a job in Montreal or is this a really bad time? Can you find a job as easily in the winter or should be wait untill next summer?

We would love to chat with somebody who allready used a Working Holiday Visa in Montreal or with somebody who is in Montreal right now and can help us with all of our questions.

Thankyou all very very very much!!!

Hi Nick en Ineke,

Welcome to Expat-Blog :)

I hope the other members will give some feedback to your questions ;)

I suggest you post an ad or your resume in the Hotel, catering, bar, restaurant and tourism jobs in Montreal section. It might help :D

Best of luck with everything !

Thank you

I would recommend arriving in the spring or during summer, so you have time to fall in love with Canada before the winter arrives :-)

Coming from Belgium you might be able to find "linguistic testing" jobs in the video game industry.
