Hi,

For the ones living in Sofia, what would you suggest to discover the region?

When you have friends or family visiting you, where do you go with them? What are the must-see places in Sofia, the tourist sites?

How to visit the region in an original way? Any unusual or unknown place to recommend?

What would you suggest for a couple of days of for a week of holidays in Sofia?

I'd recommend checking out the free tours first of all. There's a free 2 hour walking tour, a free cycling tour (although you have to hire a bike if you don't have your own) and a free hiking tour. They are all reviewed on trip adviser.

Take a walk at Vitosha mountain, climb if possible or use the lifts up and enjoy. During winter season, be ready for skiing.
This is the open lift, you can also visit the Monastery that is very close:

My family and friends like to hike so I am taking them to the mountains (e.g.Musala, Cheren Vrah). We like also to go to Plovdiv which is more pretty city than Sofia.
