Car Financing and Driving

Post new topic

Can somebody advise earliest I can do a car financed in KSA. I'll be coming from US and would definitely need a car ASAP.

How many days / months it would take? And what can I do for the time I don't have a car? Can I rent a car?

Does anyone know if it's OK to drive a car for a few days of valid US driver's license? If not, how soon can I get a license?

Getting a car will definitely depend on your sponsor...and your status...
You can rent a car via your company, and you can drive maybe max 30 days with your valid US D.license upon your arrival..

"Financing" or really leasing is very expensive. You don't pay interest on a loan but you do make extra payments and/or ballon notes. Effectively you are paying about 20% intetest which is steep. Also you have to get permission to being the car out of country from lender. It not a bug deal but the 20% sure is. :)

not really.  i only end up paying a few grand more USD for my sportage over buying one in the US

Hi Mart, welcome to the forum!  A sponsor is your employer (or family member).  It's the entity/person that 'sponsored' your visa.

This is the most basic thing you need to know.  Please read the different threads (it's fun, really!) to find out about Saudi Arabia.
