South Africans in Khobar

Post new topic

Ierfaan

I have been in Khobar now since March. Finally got my work visa now. Was here initially on a business visa. Returned on work visa last Friday and am now waiting on my Iqama.
In the plane from Cape Town to Doha and then Dammam, there were quite a few people from Cape Town. In fact I chatted to one gentlemen who knew me from about 20 years ago.
I would love to get in touch with him and any other fellow Saffas in Khobar.
Please get in touch

Devonian

I am half South African, does that count?

Ierfaan

Sure

I will arrive in Khobar early hours of Monday next week. Will need a place to watch the Rugby Championship. Do you know of anywhere?

Sounds like a plan. But Saturday is the rugby. Bokke vs All Blacks.
Maybe there is a place where we can watch the game

LenLadin

As far as I know, you have to be a member of Internations - its free for standard members. Join in and you will see there is a group for Saudi Arabia, Khobar. If you don't know Internations, here is the website addy

What is this website for?

LenLadin

Breakfast is early, start at 8:00 - so plenty of time later. I don't know where to watch the rugby in KSA though, always travel over to Bahrain. Lets meet up for the breakfast, then make a plan for the rugby. Drop me a mail, and we will discuss

Are there any SAfricans in Khobar/Dammam/Dhahran looking to travel to Riyadh/Jeddah to do the voting thing on 7th of May?

As I'd wouldn't mind voting, but don't want to drive to Riyadh alone or fly to Jeddah...

Let me know if anyone is going? And remember to fill in the VEC 10 form on the IEC's website that you want to vote outside South Africa. Before 12 March I think!

Hi there it would be great to meet with fellow saffas.

I have been here since May and have not met too many saffas yet.

Chris2.0

Hiya!

I arrived on Saturday, so pretty new here too... But true enough, most of the SAfricans I met at Sadara so far is from people I found on LinkedIn, not Expat-blog...

Hello stumke,

Kindly note that this discussion is not active since November 2014.

I would advise you to have a look at the section Network- South African expatriates in Khobar if you are looking for South African expats.

Thank you
