Groups of expatriates that do meeting and activities in Jordan?

Hi all,

I am wondering if there are any groups of expatriates or associations that people can join that do meetings and activities in Jordan. If there are such groups can anyone tell me about it because I am always looking to meet new people that do fun activities so people like me can understand Jordan better.

There is Cycling Jordan. It organizes weekly cycling trips around the Jordan Valley/Madaba Governate/Dibeen Forest/Wadi Rum. There are usually many foreigners there as well as Jordanians. Most of them are pretty active and stuff, so if you talk to them, I am pretty sure they know more stuff like that.

I emailed Cycling Jordan about upcoming events but they haven't seemed to reply or send out any updates. Reading your post reminded me to check their site, and I guess they had a ride last weekend. I totally would have gone had they sent anything out, but what can you do. If I see any updates on their site about activities I'll post them here.

Has anyone been on one their rides?

I know there are groups for women. Such as: American Women of Amman or otherwise known as AWA. They meet once a month in a nice hotel and anyone is welcome. If you want to join you must have an American passport but anyone is welcome to attend general once a month meetings. Cost for the general meeting is 5JD. They break for the summer but will continue in September. There are also groups for women: German, British etc. Contact American Embassy for info on groups in Jordan.
