volunteering in Colombo area

I will be in SL for a few months.
I am looking for a way to do some volunteer work - without having to pay for doing it - as so many of the "volunteer in Sri Lanka" websites will have you do.

Any suggestions on finding a legitimate group or place to deal with ?

Hi there,
we operate an elderly care home, Cinnamon Care, in Sri Lanka, you are welcome to come and volunteer there, check out the site and get in touch with us if interested. One of our residents lived in Canada and most of her kids live there.
