Hello everybody,

I am in process of interview with one of oil field services company. The job is in Tananger.I am not clear about what salary should i ask.
i will be relocating from india to norway.
I request you to share your knowledge on these my concerns

1.Salary for "Senior Electronic Engineer" having 6.5+ years of experience.
2.cost of living in Tananger.
3.What benefits do oil field services company provide.

Thanks a lot in advance for your valuable response on my concerns

Hey,

With this experience and in oil you should get something between 700-800K NOK per year.
Tananger which is in fact an area of the city Stavanger in the South Norway is a very expensive place to live in. most of the oil money is there and expats from the oild industry hence a quite expensice real estate. you have many references on this in the forum.
The benefits will depend on your company rather than the industry itself. if you work offshore, you get some hefty bonus and also maybe some tax benefits, depending on how long time you are on platforms or boats.

I hope this helps

Thanks a lot AuNordDuMonde for clearing my concerns :)

6.5 year... Well, I can tell you'll need to get around 700K a year, before tax deduction.

But it is Stavangar. Meaning, you may have a bit more than that. But I am quite sure you'll have around 700K NOK a year, almost at least 700K or around that, if you're going to have title 'SENIOR'.
