Football and Rugby

Post new topic

Hi All,

Have recently made the move to Malta, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on if there are any local football/rugby teams ( like Sunday League in the UK) which play in the Sliema area. I am looking to just get back into sport really, not in any advanced level, just for fun.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Will

How you doing welcome to Malta.

If you are interested in rugby their are teams that train and play weekly.
I play for a team from Ghargur we are currently recruiting if you are interested in coming to some training sessions to see what its like drop me a message and we'll sort something out.
In Sliema the rugby team is Sliema Stompers and they would be one of the better teams on the island.

Its club level with most clubs having an a and b team much the same setup as UK.
All clubs would have a yearly subscription and you would also need to pay the mrfu (Malta rugby football Union)fees, this is insurance, before they will allow you to play.

Ghargur Gladiators is my team. http://www. gladiatorsrugby.com/ we train Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.30pm till 9 and most games are on Saturday afternoons in Marsa.

As I said if you are interested send me a message and we will sort something out get you up for a training session or two and see what you think.

Good luck bud.
Chris
