Not having culture shock BUT

Post new topic

Went big C today and Whoa wher is the trust? Security is so tight, never seen this anywhere, even Saigon. No opened drinks and they seal your goodies in a bag and tell you put it in locker but don't worry about contents of bum bag. Is it only in Hue? Did not see in Saigon. Anyone else have similar shock?

Big C in Danang are the same guards pat down locals as they go out. Guards follow you around but it is good because no one is game to have a go at stealing you stuff. We got a full trolley of stuff from the BIg C and when we were waiting for our car the guard were actually guarding our trolley. this is my wife's blog about our time here.

l3ully

for BIG C this is praxis, also in Thailand

I always offer to let the lady pat me down too. No different than costco in the USA going through your bag as you exit. I also enjoy having security even help with stuff.

In the Phils, ( 2000 ),  they had ARMED guards,( Shotguns and pistols ), everywhere in the shopping Malls, ( Manilla ), and outside many shops/buildings. In the Banks in QN, some guards have tasers .
