Hi to all fellow expats - and others who visit this forum. Though been a member - albeit infrequent participant on this site - Been asked to introduce myself again - so here goes:
- Canadian expat - been in Jeddah long enough to get used to it - and like it
-  work in management for a private Petrochem co
- old enough that my children are all independent
- young enough that I still like to travel and explore new cultures and places
- like to read, write poetry
- open minded enough not to be judgemental
- sober enough not to talk too much about myself
So that's it!

Hello Bluman, :)
Nice of you to mention about poetry!
Do you care to post one of your poems here?  :/

Blumanxt

English poetry I wrote a long time back - in college days - following is one of them. Now I write in my my native language - and I write for my own satisfaction - as I do not want to create controversy.
Looking back - this is very judgmental - but it now applies to me as well as anyone intended at that time (excuse my grammar - English is an acquired language for me!)

Dead they live
Worse than the clay
from whence they sprung
And wallow in the dirt
Glitters around us
And play with fire
In quiet corners
darker than the womb
And fateless
Sink into the mire
Without any trace

Hello Bluman, :)

Thank you for posting your work.
I consider it's good poetry.

1). Do not bother about creating controversies!
Your goal is to pen good ideas, practice your language (and English) and if this creates controversy, so be it: because this is how you get to know the public and separate the undesirable ones from those who will follow you.

2). I see a quick business opportunity here:

- Publish your poetry urgently in your language.

- Publish your work also in English to gain a larger audience.

You do not want to sit at home writing for yourself forever.  You write for people who do not have the talent to compose and who want to read good works.
Now is the time for you to get real and produce results. No more anonymous writing please!

If I had not been into stock trading, I would now offer you my services as a literary agent to sell your poems Â…  :D
I like to sell everything and buy nothing.

This is  brief introduction and loaded. i like the way you described yourself and your poetry know how. Keep it up and inspire us. Thank you

Hi John C
Was traveling - so excuse the delay in reply.
Thank you for your appreciative and encouraging response. Have not written enough in English to publish - and really not publishable quality. However am toying with idea of starting a Poetry discussion blog - specially of Mystic Poetry from different cultures - specially Middle Eastern and Asian - if the idea creates interest in members.

Hello Bluman, :)

1). Any idea if it's good will work.  Feel free to start your poetry discussion blog.

2). I personally won't join because of time constraints and 1,000 other things I'm already doing.
Let us know when it's ready though.  :par:
