Here are a several  more links that I have found to be useful:

Driver's Licenses for Foreigners:

Riteve (Annual auto Inspection):

Registro Nacional Online Access (home and auto legal document verification):

General Info on various CR laws:

Approx driving times between CR cities:

Car prices and availability (new & used):

PC Handy

Thanks for the resources, Julie. Two things; one you need to update the US Embassy site to and next, I visited the Costa Rica Immigration site, but it all seems to be in Spanish, and my Spanish is too limited to learn anything from it. Do you know if there is a similar site in English? Thanks!

@Julie

One more to add.  After you get 'forced' to join the National Healthcare system in order to finalize your Residency Process... it is a good idea to go onto the official

'Caja' website and register to use it.  Below is the web address for CCSS (Caja).

I found that the 'Salary' page is a good one to download and save as pdf so that you can print it out when you need to show proof of paying your Caja monthly payments for Cedula renewals; etc.
