Hi there, as these are household items the container will be inspected by the customs within 2 days and can be taken out once the shipping line issues DO. You can contact a local clearing and forwarding agent to clear the container and transport it to your home...

I got a bag sent from the UK through Emirates Sky Cargo and it arrived in 2 days! but it was quite difficult actually picking it up from customs. U need to be patient and no one will be able to tell exactly how long ur wait is gonna be.. Best to go during the week. I am not entirely sure about shipping though.. Check with the actually company?

So any updates on this? What are the costs invovled after you get in to Jabal Ali port and how much average time does it take for getting it from Port to your place?

I sent my household stuff through a removals agent in Belgium, who has a counterpart local agent here in Dubai.  They took care of all the administrational things and of the customs clearing.  After the ship's arrival, it was a question of a few days only.

Our metal box left the UK on 12 September and arrived Mina Port in AD on 24 October. Clearing was 2-3 days.

They had a right good look through the boxes, the container was repacked by a bunch of idiots and several things were broken.
