Belgium citizenship timeline and Birth certificate question

Post new topic

crisscross

How long is it taking nowadays to get Belgium citizenship with the new Jan 2013 process once the application is made?

Also do we have to get legalized birth certificates from the home country or can it be obtained from the consulate located in Brussels?

Hi

you always need legalised documents for Belgium. Depending on wich country you were born in, you can get a birth certificate from your embassy.

Call the civil state of the commune you live in, they can give you more information.
