china aggression toward vietnam

Post new topic

China is trying very hard to invade vietnam water territory.  Do u guys think war is coming?  i am thinking about arming myself to defend my mother land.  What u guys think?  I know expat can move away if war is coming, but i am staying to defend this lovely land .

China would be insane to get in a war with Vietnam.  They've tried that before, and it didn't work out well for them.

The US just announced a new military cooperation agreement with the Philippines, and the Philippines is working with Vietnam to counter China.  If China starts shooting, they could find themselves facing the US military.  At that point, what do you think the outcome would be?

nickuscdds12001

but it seems like china dont care about usa.  if they care, why would they put a big ass oil rig right in the middle of vietnam.  What is it in usa interest that philipines has for usa more than china.  Usa owe shit load of money to the chinese and phillipines is milking money out of usa.  What u think who usa are more favored for?

DanFromSF

China would suffer far more in a war with the US than the US would, both militarily and economically.  Regardless of what China thinks, the US does care about the South China sea.   You don't think Obama's recent trip to SE Asia was a message to China?  Come on.

My prediction:  China is going to pull back their oil rig (and this is about oil, not water).  If they don't, that oil rig is a sitting duck.

nickuscdds12001

i bet they wont pull it back.  let see and watch

DanFromSF

Yeah, just remember:  Oil rigs are highly flammable and it's often difficult to determine where small missiles are fired from.  Just saying...

Very funny post, I don't see it coming. China will not create stupid war like US did, they are busy with their economy and I don't see Vietnam and China are enemy, Vietnam keep borrowing money from China and Japan, u don't give your money to your enemy do u? With US current situation, u can't expect Vietnam get any penny from them. I don't see it coming, it's just a show, they are more than friend.

Keep your friends close, and enemies even closer :)

China definitely not afraid to take on US military just like the Russian facing the US in Ukraine.
You take a look, Crimea goes to Russia, and all US does is economic Sanction and not much else. That should tell you something.

China 's rig is there to stay.  It's not really meant for drilling. It's out there to send a message with 80 vessels escort, including destroyers and subs. Waiting for Viets to fire the first shots.

The days of peaceful rise is over due to US overbearing Asia pivot. Now China knows US is not a honest broker.  From now on, it's gonna all hard power.
