Looking for Kristin Haug
Hello , I am looking for a very close friend of mine that i lost touch with in 1989, her name is Kristin Haug, she was born in 1962 in Norway, her last address that I remember was Morellsvei 13 in Oslo back i 1989. I have 5 pictures of her , let me know if you know her. Ill apreciate your help very much , ill be in Oslo with my family next week and I would be very happy if I can see her . THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN 1N 1985 AND 1988. She had one brother and sister that I visited but i cant recall their names. Her parents both passed away when she was child.
Hi did you know Norway has freedom of information? Everybodys name and telephone numbers are listed on a public website. Im not sure the website name but i can find out later today. Maybe you can google it and find out. Used to show peoples tax payments back in the 90's
Gulesider has several hits for that name, plus bronnoysund. Tax information usually comes up if you do an internet search on a person's name.
If you are such close friends, how did you lose touch? Did you check Facebook?
is also a good place to look. Every single person in Norway has some details online. I found  Â
Kristin Elisa Holte Haug
Kristin Braseth Aamodt-Haug
Did you know her middle names? Its typical to have a longer name then Kristin Haug in Norway
Thank you. Her name was either Anne Kristin Haug or Kristin Anne Haug, she never used Anne as she disliked it , went by Kristin. If memory serves me right , her date of birth was October or September 1962. Last time I saw her was in 1989 as she was living at Morrelvei 13. She ahd a brother and sister who were quite older than her , I visted them once in their houses, lived somewhere outside Oslo, no parents , both died when she was a child.
In answer to ECS question , I moved back to the USA back in 1989 , when I tried to call her the phone was disconnected, later i looked up a phone # for Morrelsvei 13 and a gentleman told me he bought the old house, tore it down and built apartments, he did not know where she moved to. She had no way to know i moved back to the USA as she only had my Israeli phone number.
I have many photos of her all taken in the 1980s , do not know if this is much help. I had a Norwegian friend look up the tax records and he found a Kristin Haug in Gjerdrum who was on facebbok too and born in 1962, unfortunately it was not her.
If she is married will her name be Haug then the husband's last name or vice versa?
Thank you
There is a Ann-Kristin Haug born in 1964, living in Nesoddtangen, and a Anne Kristine Haug born in 1963, living in Oslo.
Do you remember the name of her relatives?
Thank you tiaccisaw. I asked my brother and he said our Kristin was born either in October 1961 or 1962. I never spoke Norwegian and was very hard for me to remember her sister and brother names, will her previous address from 1989 be any help from some kind of search. Last scenario I am thinking of is to hire a private detective in Oslo , I am sure they have access to more information although I know it will not be cheap.
The reason I want to find her badly is she used to be my fiance, she was a very special person who took care of me and supported me financially although she was poor by Norwegian standards while I pursued my career training as an airline pilot. She spent every last time dime on me , I owe her a lot, she was all by herself with no one to look after her.
I got a sudden offer to fly for a major American airline and left Israel next day. When I tried to call her after I settled down , her phone was disconnected and the house she lived as a renter at Morrelsvei 13 was purchased by a builder , she never knew I moved back to the USA. We were planning to get married in the next few months, not to bore anyone with these long details , I got married to a beautiful Russian lady who have 2 lovely twin daughters with, I could never forget how much Kristin sacrificed for me and she would have been my wife till the last day of my life , after my flying career I started many businesses which became very successful and I became a millionaire many times over.
I want to find Kristin to take care of her for all what she did to me, I felt so guilty all over the years, I want to buy her an apartment and a car , and anything else she needs and open a branch for my company in Oslo for her , I know she would never had a chance to be well off, because back in the 1980s she left college , never finished her education to work 2 jobs to help me pay for my pilot certification.
I apologize if I bored you all with these details, Ill be Oslo with my family next Monday for a week and then to Bergen and Alesund, ill keep trying,
thank you all and best wishes.
Please do it. A private investigator will know where to look for information.
Another option you could consider is to write with your story to one of the newspapers. If they think it is a good story they might publish something about it. Norway is a small country, so if any of the newspapers carry the story, she or someone she knows is certain to see it. Of course this depends on whether you would want to share your story with a newspaper.
I admit to being unfortunately cynical about these "find my long lost friend" stories after reading about people using it to find people who didn't want to be found. I think it was a story of a woman who had changed her identity to hide from an abusive ex, but he found her again through social media and a bunch of people thinking they were helping a romantic story. Maybe I should stop reading the internet
Thanks to all of your suggestions, I appreciate it very much. As to ECS , I am sorry to stay that your response is typical of an American lady, insecure and thinking the world is out there to get you.Â
To prove you wrong, anyone who tried to help me with positive suggestions, lives around Oslo or Alesund, Ill be staying at the Radisson Blu Plaza from June 9th till the 16th and Radisson Blu Alesund from the 16th through the 20th, ill be glad to PM you my information and invite you for dinner or a drink. Ill be there with my wife and daughters.
Cheers
Hey did you get my PM today i think they are some good leads. One of them im sure is her but you will know more then me

ah, didn't realize we were stooping to the level of personal attacks now. If I thought people were "out to get me" I wouldn't be posting on internet forums. I'm just sharing a story about why we shouldn't always trust what people say on the internet. Plenty of people on this website alone have shared heartbreaking and terrible stories of being duped, and I just hope people are aware so they can make their own decision about whether or not to help. As you saw here, I myself offered some advice earlier.
