Hi there,

I will be moving to Costa Rica and working remote for my firm in Mass.

I will be on a 1099 arrangment. Does anyone know if i need to pay state/federal income tax? The money will be coming from USA, but I will be living in CR. Not sure how this works, any info will help thanks!

You will need to continue filing for your Federal Taxes every year especially since you will be receiving 1099s. As far as state taxes, you will new to continue filing in the place of your last residence until you obtain residency in Costa Rica.

Our tax adviser told us that you'll have a pretty big benefit in the states by living here more than 330 days each year.  Talk to your tax preparer and see what they tell you.
