i think it is safe i went before there and the train has many foreigners don't worry,
but it is very hard trip because train in egypt is not comfort like in Europe
i used the train from Rome to Munich last April and it was very comfort but in Egypt you will be very tired

I have done the trip a few times travelling as a single woman and taking a sleeper , you can share with another woman ( they will not pair you with a male ) but it is surprisingly expensive . I always felt safe in Egypt an dtravelling yes you get the guys trying to chat but just pretend your are deaf of show them your wedding ring , a boring old trick but creating a husband and family does work .  I would look at flights or even travelling with a tour group i have used Gecko travels in a few countries they are wonderful !!

Some European Ladies were working with us enjoyed such trip safety.
Although me Egyptian but expat for more than 14 years, I lost that chance to visit Luxor.
I have some friends working there. As for me, travelling to Canada was easier in my case!!!.
Now, start thinking seriously, why not Luxor?
Have a good day.

I think it's safe when u book the 1st class ticket with sleeper. If you are alone in Egypt ,make sure to be firm with any approach as you may be always a target for dating relationship (also called "friendship" in Egypt ).And please do not listen to all the negative comments in this blog as many have an intention for dating and they offer their company .

I agree with Ottawa however  Ottawa i used to study at AUC ,lots of international students ,Some of them really enjoy being accompanied and its not bothering them
so it depends on the personality itself and others would consider it a very rude way

I agree with u that its safe however flight much easier and by the way almost same price of the sleeping train
so cost wise and time its better a flight
hehe i offered to help with discount hehe but i am not joining so should be no worries from me
