German-speaking primary schools in Fribourg

Post new topic

Hi everyone,

We are thinking of moving from Germany to Fribourg in Switzerland. I am trying to find out more about German-speaking primary schools for our six-year old daughter. I've heard that the schools differ hugely and wondered if anyone who has gone down a similar path could give me any advice? I'd rather send her to a German school, as that is what she's used to at the moment, and she doesn't speak any French - yet. Many thanks!

uhuh not easy, I think Germany schools will speak Swiss German, or you don't mind?

Hi there,

Swiss-German is fine, too, obviously. I'm just trying to avoid French-speaking schools as she won't understand a word!!

then it may depend on the district where you live, Fribourg downtown should be ok, otherwise Murten, or closer to Bern, you may find some.

SaraSK

ok, thanks!
