Currently, ways to contact relatives or friends abroad are various. But many people would still prefer to make a call and hear the voice. So, IÂ’d like to recommend you some ways to make an international call in China. And you could select the most suitable way for yourself.
Fixed telephone
1.A direct dial. First, call your telecom operator to activate the international long-distance function of your phone. The service is free of charge. But to make a direct call, the cost is expensive. For example, call German is 0.80 Yuan / 6 seconds (7:00-24:00 daily), the concession period is 0.48 Yuan / 6 seconds (0:00-7:00 daily), that is still relatively a lot of money. Recommending you get specific rates list from operator's customer service, such as dialing China TelecomÂ’s service number 10000.
2.Using all types of IP cards, such as Netcom 17968 card, Telecom 17900 cards. Several fixed-line operatorsÂ’ charges almost the same fee. Mainly depending on youÂ’ve chosen which one in your first installation of telephone. Because if you use other operators long-distance card to call, maybe poor call quality. Interconnection not good is a standing problem in China.

Mobile phone

1.A direct-dial. If you want to dial directly you need to pre-open international long-distance call function. Starting the business may need to pay a deposit (according to different areas, some cities do not have to pay a deposit but can be opened). China Mobile now has to pay 3,000 Yuan as a deposit to open; otherwise your mobile phone can not be used to make an international call.
2.Using IP card to bundle with your mobile phone. For example, Netcom 17968 cards, telecommunications 17900 cards, both can be bundled with your mobile phone. However, you must endure the complicacy of inputting a series of long number while enjoying high discount.
3.Using providerÂ’s service. Register online with both the phone number of you and your friend. Then there providers will give you a local number to call your friend. The fees charged for the call is local charges + international charges. It is relatively cheap and affordable.

Online telephone
The selling point of online telephone is always cheaper and free. In fact, there is no completely free online telephone. Skype, a popular online phone, also need to spend money, but it is indeed low price. It requires you to download software to use and with the computer be around.

im from shanghai. im using a prepaid mobile sim. that you load money into by buying their cards. i use it as well for international calls. but first you have to call the operator (found on the sim pack, or the load card) then register your number to them, they'll give you a five digit number that you dial before the number that you'll be dialing.

you do this only once after that, to make international calls simply dial the five digit number then 00 + country code + area code + phone number

hope this helps.

I think to use Skype is also a good choice!
Very lower costs and you can dial all around the world once you pay for a year! Cheers!
