Hi there.

A police certificate is a straight forward process if you do not have a criminal record in Bahrain.

You have to go to the Ministry of Interior Office in Adliya - not the main CID office, but this is a separate office near the Alumni Club.

Take 2 photographs with you and cash for fees (I remember it was BD1 or 2 - not sure). There is a form to fill. They will finger print you too there.

Once the certificate is ready they send an SMS text message and you go pick it up. Takes about a week.

Standard passport size colour pictures are required.

Certificate is valid for 3 months if I remember - not sure. Sorry.

If you tell the photographer you want passport photos he/she will take the correct type and cut them to size.  But yes, a clean white background is standard.
