My 30/50 travelcard thing...

My question is, when I use it on the Renfe, does it still only take 1 journey per journey? Silly question, I know, but...
Thanks!

Hi Chismes!
It would take 1 journey everytime you use it... it's like you were using a regular one (T10).
Depending on how many zones you are traveling to, you'll have more time to trasfer from the metro to the renfe. For example, if you have zone 1 you can use it for 1.15 without repeating the public trasnport (bus - differet numbers are fine, metro just once... etc), if you're using more zones, you'll more time to change.
do not hesitate to ask if is not clear!

Thanks!
If I travel, for example, Passeig de Gracia to Sants Estacion, although I could do this using L3 all the way - 7 or 8 stops on the Metro - would cost me 1 journey - I could do the same PDG to Sants via Renfe - only 1 stop - and still classed as 1 journey?!?

I ask because you have to use your travelcard to EXIT Renfe, whereas on the metro you don't. In London, journies are charged after the reader reads WHERE YOU EXIT via the Undergound - see?
But I suppose I will stay within Zone 1, with the journey I suggest, hence it being ok. Yes?

Hi!
Yes, you can use the renfe... just 1 stop! and 1 journey charged!

To follow it, you can hear the machine printing when you put the card in and it charges you.  If it is a follow on trip within the time allowance, it won't make that chewing/printing noise.  May help you sort it out.  I think on a 1 zone you have 45 min or an hour from when you first get on.

Hope it helps!

Also, I've realised that it actually displays how many trips you have left on that little display on the turnstile before you remove the travelcard - so you can monitor it there. But thanks, all.

Don't the last 2 digits of the printout on the back show the number of journeys left on the card?
I've got one of the 70 journeys in a month card, and they do on that.

Yeah tambien , but sometimes they are quite hard to read...

And I know what you mean, now! Thanks.

Now, I've found I'm buying 2 of these a month! Surely there must be a more economical way of purchasing my travel?!? Maybe some Barcelona-savvy kind soul could advise me accordingly... Laura...?
