Considering Moving to Cartagena to teach鈥�..is it safe

Hello!聽 I have been looking into teaching internationally and have interviewed with a school in Columbia.聽 I am mostly concerned about safety!聽 I do know some very basic Spanish, so could possibly get by speaking and do plan to learn more. The directors and teachers at the school I have spoken to have all reassured me that they feel very safe in the city.聽 In all the research I have done, there are more positives than negatives about living in Cartagena.聽聽I will be moving alone, a single female. Can anyone please share their experiences?

I am foreigner living in Cartagena for about 6 years.
Cartagena is a relatively safe city for foreigners. However, very often the locals will take advantage of them.
