Pillars of the Earth, Ken Follett. Great book.

I am into girly books I love Sophie Kinsella humor with her series of Shopaholic! Though the last book (Mini Shopaholic) is getting me into kind of lethargic.

Someone mentioned Voltaire's Candide. Forgot about that, but enjoyed it very much. My favourite though is The Outsider (translated from the French) by Albert Camus. It is a cynical tale about the world and too much truth for many to read. I love discussing it and hearing about people's interpretations of the message. It can be a bit depressing for some though!

best writer is Gibran, and best book is Sophie's World!

Anything by Thomas Hardy. Try Tess of the D'Urberville's. It'll make you cry!!

I love a good fantasy novel that is well written, I can get so engrossed in reading Raymond Feists stories that I lose track of time.

Emergency Sex and Other Depsarate Measures by Kenneth Cain, Heidi Postlewaite and Andrew Thomson.

This wouldn't be most favorite of all time but I'd like to recommend it to anyone. It's written by 3 people about their experiences as United Nations workers in countries such as Somalia, Cambodia, Eastern Europe and other places with terrible political and social issues. Is humorous at times as well as very serious. It's a damn good read.

Then again..i have fallen in love with most of his books..'The Zahir' , 'The Alchemist'. Just Great.

I like Dan Brown's books. It's really exciting to read. I haven't read the last one yet.

James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series! They're awesome if you like books on crime or thrillers.

I am in Argentina, and I need to find out about literature from this part of the world. So far, I am very familiar with Colombian author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who I love (One Hundred Years of Solitude - mmmm!) and the book, Mirrors, by the Uruguayan author, Eduardo Galeano's Mirrors, is just amazing.

The first Karamazov Brothers,the second Anna Karennina.

My fave book of all time is "IF TOMORROW COMES" by Sidney Sheldon though he is not my fave writer. I prefer Dan Brown. But this book is exceptional (for me at least). The story is not really that strong but the twists and turns of events is just so compelling.

I got so many favorite books though, to count a few:
1)The Alchemist- Paulo Coelho ( Amazing read & it gave me a good boost and made me believe in "omens" a bit more xD )
2)Da Vinci Code: It's one BIG book, that could take days to finish. But,I really enjoyed reading that one
3) Most Agatha Christie books

I have two authors that I love the most. Ernest hemmingway and Mochtar Lubis (the last one is from Indonesia). every book they made, has very dettail descriptions that make me really feel their passion and their energy. I dont read so much, but the most beautiful book i've ever read is The Sun Aso Rises by Ernest hemingway. UUUhhhh I love Hemingway!

I have read many novels and was going to say that Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood" was excellent. But it did not leave the profound impact that a Greek Mythology novel had on me; especially "The Myth of Sisyphus" by Albert Camus. In short Sisyphus was punished eternally by the Gods to roll a huge boulder up a hill, only to have it roll down to the bottom each time he finally gets it to the top. There is a message to be taken here and my interpretation is the following:
1) Life can be repetitive, futile, and laborious at times but we do have a choice if we want to experience joy in life. They may be temporary but they are joys nevertheless, and they are most important.
2) A joyous life is better than a joyless one, even though both come to an end.
3) Much work that is difficult is worthwile and often success at a difficult task is far sweeter than success at an easy one.
4) We cannot control our destiny, but we can control our deserts, and we do that by always trying to do what is right and what is best.
5) Attempts may be futile, but making the attempt is never futile, for it determines and simultaneously rewards our character.
I have learned from this novel that life is about choices that we make and taking responsibility for those choices. I choose happiness...that is what seven years of college has given me!!!

Be happy...life is too short!

I'm a writer, should I recommend my books?
You can read one of my short stories for free, it's on my blog so everyone can read it. But I have to warn you, it's very sad story. I'm an animals lover and I care about their rights, last year my husband and I volunteered to spend one day with the rescued elephants, in the elephant park in Thailand. That visit inspired me of that story which I donated to the park. My goal is to help to stop abusing animals.



You all are welcomed to read it.

I highly recommend Game Of Thrones books by George R.R Martin. the books are beautifully written and always surprise you.
