Parking in Lisbon

Hello everyone,

My partner and I are moving to Lisbon in June for his work and we are looking at renting an apartment in the Alfama area. We will have a car as my partner needs to drive to and from work everyday. A few of the apartments we have been looking at have said that as long as it is a Portugese registered car then the owner of the apartment can register it with the council and we are entitled to free street parking on our street. Can anyone please tell me what parking is like in this area? Are we likely to be able to park a car on the street when we need?
Many thanks

Bardamu

It is the oldest and most touristic area in Lisbon. Small streets and a lot of tourists...not sure this is the best place for street parkings. Wonderfull and livelly area but not sure a lot of expat actually would like to live there.
