resident visa real time

I know this has propbably been asked before but,I need advice.I was told by a lawyer that it only takes 45 days to recieve your residency.I am applying for a visa by purchasing property.
I would appreciate others expierence as to if this is true?
I curenntly live in Panama and many things said are not always the reality.

It says you are in Quito but you say you are still in Panama. so I presume you will move to Quito. phone the Ministerio de relaciones exteriores and speak to the person, who actually signs and makes the visa for you. they will tell you if at this time it will be a long of short time. yes normally it will take 30 days or a bit more. but you lose nothing by checking. also in each city things run a bit differently from other cities and the rules can differ.
but in a short answer, yes less than 45 days.
