Things to do in Girona during the weekends

Post new topic

Christine

Hi,

What do you usually do on your weekends in Girona?

Are there any places to visit, any activities, any events or festivals regularly organized you would like to recommend?

What are your top tips for the weekend in Girona?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience, ;)

Hi Christine,

I just noticed your question about weekends in Girona, sorry for the delay. Sunday does tend to be very quiet, almost all the shops are closed - very different from the UK. I like it. There are often concerts to go to at the Auditorio.

I love Saturday mornings in Girona, it is buzzing! Lots of people are out shopping, drinking coffee outside the bars. There is a huge market in Parc de la Devesa, one section for fruit and veg - very cheap - and then a large clothing section. One slight snag about weekends is that the buses run on a 30 minute schedule as opposed to 15 minutes during the week. But Girona isn't very big and one can walk to most places! At the end of October we have our Fires de Sant Narcis which is well worth visiting.
