Bunk Beds

Post new topic

I recently moved to Muscat and want to know where in Muscat can I buy a wooden bunk bed, similar to the ones they sell at Ikea, and if you buy this from Ikea in Dubai, how difficult is it to bring the goods back from there over the border?

Hi piet64,

Bunk Beds are available in most leading furniture stores across Muscat. Check out HomeCentre outlets. And HomeLife Store at Markaz Al Bahja in Seeb. Also there is a furniture outlet called Micasa in Al Khuwair - in the same service road where Best Western Hotel is. I have seen bunk beds there as well. But these are not similar to the Ikea ones though.

Buying in Ikea Dubai and shipping them to Muscat is a relatively easy and simple procedure. You don't have to carry the stuff by yourself. It will be transported by road, by Ikea. While checking out at the Ikea store, tell them that you would want the stuff transported to your home address in Muscat and they would do it - for a cost of course. It will reach your doorstep in a matter of a week's time maximum. I have done it myself and I do not have anything adverse to report.

Thank you for the advice, I had a look at the beds at Micasa, good quality but rather expensive, and I could not locate Homelife store, they must have closed down

Hi piet64,

My bad ... it is 'HomeCentre' (and not as mentioned erroneously earlier).

There is a large store in Al Khuwair, about 500 metres from the Sultan Qaboos Al Khuwair traffic lights. They are doing roaring business !!

Micasa is indeed expensive. They claim they get all their furniture from Spain. Avoid them if you can. They are not reliable people.
