I have tried Skype and What's App and both let me text but not use voice. I read on this blog that is not allowed by UAE. Have you personally used any of the ones you listed? Maybe it is just because of my hotels wifii

Hello there, it is not really from the Wifi. It wont work anywhere in the UAE. I had a similar issue. This is how I resolved mine, It depends on the type of phone you are using. I will suggest you download a VPN. In my own case, I downloaded "betternet" and it works perfectly well on my device. I will suggest you do the same. Cheers

Whatsapp calling dont work in the UAE for now.. try vibre or skype..

Regarding VPN use is illegal as we read on the internet, not very clear on the punishment though..
