LEAVING VIETNAM FOR A FEW DAYS. WILL MY BANK ACCOUNT BE SAFE??

Post new topic

Cpearce1988

I have to leave Vietnam for Cambodia to get a new visa soon but I have a bank account open here in Vietnam. Once I leave and essentially void my current single-entry visa, what will happen to my account? I will only be away for 5-7 days and don't really want to close it down unless it is necessary, obviously.

Thank you!

close it if I were you.
if you are certain of returning then leave it.  Never use local bank for money.
Try ANZ  a/c  or HSBC.

Why don't you ask the bank where you open your account for more information, It will give you an exact answer. :)

Did you open account in Vietnamese bank?
Are you sure you can return without any visa issues?
If so do not worry. Otherwise better to be safe than sorry!
Vietnamese banking law is changing day by day. I heard that even WP holders cannot deposit money in Vietnamese bank. If your money is in international bank, then you can withdraw it wherever you go.
I faced a crazy situation once in Cambodia run where Phnom Penh office denied to give me Vietnam visa.  That time I really shocked and thought about my bank account even though it is HSBC  :)
Anyway I got visa from Sihanoukville office and returned then.
Still I don't believe it is safe to deposit money in Vietnamese bank.
