I think they need IT specialists here in Greece. Interested?

I would actually prefer an English-speaking country outside Europe (I still need to improve my English), but why not? Do you know a couple of websites I could check to see which kind of IT profile they are looking for in Greece?

I wish I did know where you could find such a job. I just know there is a need. We're quite backward here in lot's of ways. I will try and find out though.

You know most people speak english here anyway. Why do you need to improve your english? "sounds" perfect to me.

I agree about the English teaching job.  I moved to Germany thinking I could break into the photography/web design job market and god it's been so difficult.  So I looked for another option and decided to teach English.  It's a growing industry as Germany expands and opens it's doors to foreign companies.  Plus, I can do this as a job until I can't walk anymore lol

That's the thing though, I don't want to teach English as a second language.  I want to teach Literature, but not much need for that here in Greece.  I am working on my Greek and might look at some translation type jobs in the future when we get settled finally.  My Greek isn't very good yet and already I catch hundreds of mistakes in subtitles and things, of course, I did a lot of editing in the U.S. so my eye is keen for such things.  I just never edit my own work. =p

I have a friend who's working for Air France. He's always overseas... he buys his electronics in Hong Kong, his shampoos in Rio, his toothpaste in Montreal...

From this side of the world, it seems that English as a Second / Foreign Language is in demand; you can find many jobs in Mexico and Central America.

And for those who are into humanitarian aid, there's always a lot of opportunities for nurses and doctors, but also engineers, etc. Depending on situations, they may need specific aid in fields that are not necessarily medical. Also, not all of the countries covered by humanitarian aid are necessarily very dangerous. Check out the websites for medecins sans frontieres, UNHCR, etc.

As for the U.S., there seems to be a steady demand of French-speaking people to do customer service (well, I know, not too sexy!) or in the computer / video game industry, but they do not generally offer work visas and relocation premiums... Besides, they do not seem to pay people with multilingual abilities as well in the US as they would in Europe generally.
