buying a home here is the smallest problem. More a problem of where and how much. As to work, yes, you will need a work permit. The easiest way for that is to find somebody that employs you. That organization then can get you a permit. Children under the age of 18 can be here on a "permit to enter and reside", as long as they do not work. Details about that can be had from the Department of Immigration.

the other option is to invest and to open your own company. The legislation has changed considerably, so I am not too sure about the finer details (amount that needs to be invested, so on so forth).

Childcare is generally not a problem. Nannies, Daycare, so on, are easily available in all major centres. Fijians are extremely kid- loving people.

Perhaps an extended stay would be in order, for you to have a look around, get in contact with people and to possibly find employment with either a medical facility (private) or a language institute.

A longer stay is something I generally recommend to people, since live here can be very different from other places, depending on what you are used to and what you expect. I know people that have been living here for 20 or more years, as well as others, that after 2 years could not take it anymore.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask in more detail about things
