Hi Naushad,

The minimum balance requirement usually varies from country to country. Unfortunately over the years, Pakistani people along with other South Asian citizens have acquired a negative repute since they consider Turkey a  gateway into Europe. They come into Turkey for a visit visa and on the first chance illegally cross the border and disappear into Europe. This gives a negative repute to almost everyone else around them. It also gives the Turkish govt a bad name.

The authorities want to be sure that if you come to visit, you do intend to return to your home country and not stay on illegally.

A friend of mine who recently visited Turkey had to show the property he 'personally' owns (not owned by his father or mother) in Jauhar Town, Lahore. Also, he had to show an upwards of USD 60,000 equivalent of Pakistani money in his bank account.

More than this, he had to prove to the officer that he intends to come back home. In his case, he has children and wife who are dependent on him and as I mentioned, a property that he takes care of.

In case of students, it is harder simply because of the fact mentioned above.

Hope this helps.
