Rent an apartment in KL

Post new topic

Atishrakhe

Hi All
I am moving to KL soon and would be working at  CBD near the Raja Chulan Metro Station. I am planning to rent an apartment and have some questions :

Which areas would be good for renting an apartment that would be accessible by public transport?

What rents can I expect for a 2 bedroom apartment

What kind of contract is generally done in KL? Monthly / Quarterly / Anual?

Thanks

llmjessie

Hi,

Can I know what is your expecting rental per month? How long will you rent the condo? Normal rental term in Malaysia is at least 1 year but some are doing it monthly or quarterly as well. It is depending on how are you dealing with the house owner.

Hi,

I believe for the rental you should expect between 2K to 4K (depending on area, condo, furnishure,...).

If you want less you will have to take a studio (not always the best option) or a room based.

In Malaysia, lease agreement are 1 year, if less, they will ask for higher price. Then the terms for 1 year contract is to pay 3.5 months in advance (1 month rental, 2 months deposit, half month utilities deposit). Plus sometimes agent fees (they call it agreement fees) which is like 200 to 300 RM.

Best luck.

Hi Jessie,
Thanks for your reply. I am thinking on the lines of 2000 to 2500 per month. I definitely want a fully furnished place. I do not mind talking a place that is connected by Metro and within 30 to 40 mins travel time.
I would have preferred a quarterly contact,  but i think i can go in for an Anual one also.

Thanks mama_sing.

Could you advice me which places i should look at for renting?  I dont plan to take a car vrey soon, so i need a place connected by public transport and the travel time max 40 mins.

Nemodot

Hi it is nearly always 1 year unless you are in a high end service condo (12k 0er month)

2500 rm means rock bottom price for an older condo outside of kl. Budget should be 3k minimum. I know as recently moved and new condos 3-4k for 2 beds anywhere worth living. I don't mean luxury just somewhere decent.

Hi Nemodot.
I saw some good apartments online in this place called Bidara Condominiums in Bukit Bintang where the rate is about 2.5k per month. Any idea about this place? Is it good?

Maria1305

Hi.
One bedroom around bukit bintang you can get around approx around rm 2.2k.
If you do not mind to travel by monorail 10-15 you can get new studio approx 400sf for more less the same price.

I have one in ampang ranging 2.2k - 2.4k.. 15 mins to KLCC or Raja chulan. ++++

Not too easy to find the right agent or owner. I finalized a rental condo close to LRT. Looking for a right person to share. That is a 3-bedroom and I am one person who move to Kl for work. Alex
