I was highly recommended a village near Subotica,(friends live there half their time- famous for its wine, and corn and sunflowers-and also very low property costs, including barns and garden.) I have never looked back and love the life, albeit its quiet, but we ride round the village on bikes, and everyone says hello, we have a pool in the centre of the village for public use(just over one euro for entrance)
Past our house the horse and cart goes by-something we love to see, and each day when we bike around we try and improve our Hungarian/Serbian by trying to work out what people are selling-if we are unsure, we refer to the dictionary , when we know we often go back and purchase, albeit it fresh farm eggs, duck eggs, goats cheese, home made jam, bread fresh yogurt,-the list is endless.
At the end of our road we have two wineries, both producing excellent variety of red and white wine, filling a plastic bottle with white wine which is excellent costs so little, and the local weekly market is always a must with second hand goods and clothes, together with fresh Serbian sausage, fruits and vegetables, the list is endless, just got to get a grip with the language,
that's if for now
