cost of living- Possible to live with 1800euro a month in Algarve?

Post new topic

Captain Grumpy

Is it possible to live in the Algarve area on 1800 euros a month?

This would include renting a small 2 bedroom furnished house within 30 minutes of a town to get groceries, etc..

Also how much would it cost to buy a used toyota, say a corolla?

We are thinking of moving from Prince Edward Island Canada in 2017.

This is what our basic costs are:
Electricity - 167,00
Internet and Telephone - 80,00
Water - 49,34
Gas - 54,00
Total: 350,34
Food for two people: 200,00 (completely possible)
Away from direct access to a beach, you could rent an apartment anywhere from 400,00 euros up.
You have more than enough money to live on. My family of four lives on 1600,00 including social security of 291,36  and 200,00 for storage of our furniture. We don´t pay rent but we do have condominium costs.
I hope this helps.
