Living in la cidade maravilhosa...

Post new topic

When it doesnt rain!!!!

I'm introducing myself here. I'm Celia, spanish, living in Rio since May.

I'm used to be an expat in many places, as due to my work, I have been living in many countries. I see Rio is different from other places as it's not so easy to find people from abroad living here, so I decided to use this web. Hope it works!!!!

I'm still not very settled in the city, although I spend long time traveling. My portuguese is so so, but I survive with the portunyol.

It would be great to find people in the same situation to explore this city!!!!

Besinhes,
Celia

You may view the Rio de Janeiro expat network to establish new contacts. ;)

I wish you good luck.

Hey, mark!!!!

Thanx for your message.

I've been here since may, but due to my work i travel a lot through all latinamerica.

I start to know the city a bit, but still i'm missing some places beyond the touristic ones. i love music and films, but i'm not a total friend of samba!!!! (someone can kill me coz of this...but it's the truth!!!)

how do you find things happening in this city? i mean, concerts, films, etc... i find out about things when they have just happened!!!!

besos, and thanx for the tips!

bceli - one great resource for everything going on in the City is the Official Rio Guide, produced by Rio's tourism agency.  Check it out here (there is an English version)

Also, be sure to download the monthly calendar pdf file posted in the left column of the website.

Hve fun!
