How to buy new motorbike

ancientpathos

Greetings,
I do not work, so no work permit. Is there any other way to buy a new motorbike. I have an A1 and A2 license. Married with 5 year visa excemption. Was told my wife can buy. But only in her home town. I want to buy a Keeway 250cc. No dealership in her hometown of Vinh Chau. Anyone had a similar issue and was able to buy?

It's true that you can only buy a motobike when you are permanent population there.

You say that your wife cannot buy a vehicle if there is no dealer in your town?
Have you tried asking the closest dealer if he might be willing to deliver it and take your cash there?
Or ask your local Honda dealer to do it on the side?
Sounds like a problem better solved by Vietnamese than expats.
I've heard that money talks, especially in Vietnam!

The usual method for buying non-in stock motorbikes in Nha Trang is as #3 gobot says: just give the local motorbike showroom/dealership the make and model of the moto you want and they will order one in for you. You should do this rather than going to Saigon or other city to buy, because of the high transfer fees to change moto registration from one city or province to another.
