Looking for Part Time Teaching Work in Da Nang.

Post new topic

raymerjacque

I am flying to Da Nang in 2 days time ( 17 December 2015 ). This will be a long term move, a year or two, possibly longer. ...

I am looking for Part Time Teaching positions, Here is some information on myself :

South African born Native speaker with the following :

*Bachelor's Degree
*120 hour Advanced Tefl Certificate
*Teaching Business English certificate
*Advanced Grammar Certificate
*Teaching Young Learners Certificate

I have been working in China as a English teacher ( on a working Z-Visa ) for the last 7 months at a Training school, teaching children between ages 3 and 15. ( 26 classes per week ).

I have also been working at a University Teaching the Teachers classroom management, grammar, vocabulary, conversation skills and so forth. ( 2 classes per week )

I have also been doing Motivational speaking at the same university on a wide variety of topics to engage students and help motivate them to come out of their shells a bit as Chinese students tend to be extremely shy. ( 2 classes per week )

I have taught prior to coming to China, but really I would think teaching children in Asia would be the experience that schools will be looking for.

I prefer Junior/Middle school or higher to kindergarten. I can teach any age, but I don't really enjoy Kindergarten that much, I prefer teaching children around the ages of 6+. Ideal would be middle school or higher...

If anyone knows of any positions or is looking for a teacher, I will be available from Monday the 21st December. ( I arrive on the 17/18th, but i will need a few days to settle in, after which i am available for interviews ).

Please do not hesitate to contact me, either leave a message below or send me a private message if you have or know of any positions available. I want to start working straight away and I can work through holidays as well.

My reason for leaving China is simple, The pollution is out of control. I originally planned to only move to Vietnam much later next year, however the smog is unbearable and hitting record levels ( some days as high as 800 times the recommended safety limits ) . I am forced to accelerate my plans, my health is not something I care to mess with.

Apparently you are now in Da Nang.  If teach-the-teacher is something you enjoy you should look into Da Nnang University (Đại học Đà Nẵng) or Da Nang University of Education (Trường Đại Học Sư Phạm).  The former incorporates a Language Teachers Training College.  The latter has a program for primary school teachers.  Perhaps you could rearrange your CV and cover letter to play up your experience in this area.

Personally, I feel that improving the skills of Public School English teachers is the service that the country needs more than any;  certainly far more than teaching children of the middle class on weekends.

Whatever you do, DO NOT work for AMA Danang

I am in Da Nang yes, been here since Friday. I took the weekend to relax and shake off China, I worked really hard there, so the weekend was a much needed break.

From today onwards I will be seeking employment and at this stage i am just hoping to get any job. I have around 6mill VND left ( i have paid up my hotel for a few weeks ), but finding work as soon as possible is a must, and I don't know who is employing this time of the year. I have an interview for 2:30pm this afternoon, so I hope that goes well.

By the way, I am new to the city and do not know a soul, not 1 single person... So if anyone wants to meet up for drinks or something let me know.

And thank you everyone for the great advice.

Why don't you email to Academy English Center and ask for an interview? This is a famous English Center in Da Nang and they recruit teacher continuously.

Their email for receiving CV: academy.ec02@gmail.com

Wow! that's amazing. are they still hiring for more teachers?  I've been looking for part time teaching job as well? Could you tell me what these schools are?

Thanks a lot.

raymerjacque

you should contact green planet, they are looking for a teacher.  So is Tipivi, however, i would not recommend Tipi unless you are hard up, the woman that runs it is AWFUL... they offered me work, but I refuse to work there.

you can find both on google easily.

engelikitty

very appreciated.

Hi Raymerjacque,
Welcome to Danang, I hope you will have a great time here.
If you still have a free time, why don't you teach at your house? I am finding a English class but I don't to join a E centers ( :( ), just a group with 3-5 members.
What do you think about that?
