living with your girlfriend in Dubai

I'm currently living in New York City and am seriously considering moving to Dubai in January for work.聽 I'm coming with my girlfriend.聽 What I have heard it is illegal.聽 Do I really have to worry about this or does everybody do it?

It is illegal in all Islamic countries and also illegal in UAE.

But get caught or pregnant and you could have problems..
