Post new topic

There is a lot of talk about this - Does anyone have an idea when this could actually happen and if so what would be the consequences?

cheers

I,as Chinese, wish it collapse as soon as possible no matter what bad things will happen!

Ziccawei

Why do you wish that, zjc?

I think the after effects could be devastating for many people in China.

To Ziccawei,

Many Chineses can not bear the high cost of buying their own house while those "rich" people have dozens. So many Chinese have used all their savings to purchase a house,as consequence, they have no money to travel,go shopping even have to wait to die because of no money. I hate this!

I agree with zjc2008685 very much.

A well-known economist named Andy Xie has written extensively on this topic.

His idea is that there is a bubble, which may or may not cause a crash.  He considers it likely that instead of a crash there will be a period of several years with possible ups and downs but generally resulting in a gradual decline over the period, maybe five years.  How much of a decline depends partly on the region.  For example, Zhejiang province (near Shanghai) is probably more overvalued than some other parts of China, and therefore has more downside potential.
