Moving back to Colombia

Hello all. I plan on moving back before the financial crisis hits here at home. Does anyone know if you can buy gold and silver in Colombia? May I bring precious metals with me? What is the limit if so?

Until someone comes up with a fact, my GUESS is that you can transfer up to $10,000 worth of gold, but I would not be surprised if Colombia charged you a tax (30%). If it is not a huge amount, bring coins, i.e. maple leaf, throw them randomly in a few suitcase along with US coins. Stack a few vertically against the wall of a suitcase or box. and pray.聽聽Some of the Facebook Medellin pages are very active. Post the same question.聽 You might even get the name of a Colombian attorney who can answer the question.
