Sports in Puerto Rico

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

The Olympic Games are now just a few days away and we would like to talk about sports.

What sports are the most popular and/or unusual in Puerto Rico?

Are sports facilities easily accessible there? Where and how can one find sports clubs in the region?

Are there sports events regularly held in the country?

And you? What is your favourite sport? Which one(s) do you practice in Puerto Rico?

Thank you in advance,

Priscilla

Yea, should move Dominos to #4 and push everything else down, so baseball would be 5 and everything else moves down accordingly. Good one frogrock.

Is the sport part the Domino playing or the rum drinking while playing Dominos.

Running is very popular here, as well as bicycling.  Surfing and kayaking, of course.
And I'm sure tennis 🎾  will move to the top of the list for a while at least!
Not sure if fishing and scuba diving count as sports, but they are popular past times.
Sadly I have no idea how to find clubs or groups of people on the  island with shared interest - websites don't seem to be very popular here so Google searches don't serve the purpose.

Speaking of sports, Felicidades to Monica Puig for capturing Puerto Rico's first gold in women's singles tennis!!

May that medal be the beginning of many more medals for PR in the future!!!!!!!! That is, assuming that PR does not become a state.
