My advice is to make sure you always have a current, valid exit visa in your passport. Seriously. You don't want to be sat waiting if you should need to leave in a hurry for any reason.
Welcome and hope to see you on the 6th at the Women's Group.

@Dadorocks: Why don't you create a new discussion and then post these useful leisure information. It would have been more appropriate
Or you can also compiled these information and submit it as a participative guide for Tripoli forum. You can submit guide by clicking here.

Welcome Elvira and Brad
and thank you Dadorocks for taking so much time to post all of the usefull info mentioned above and in suchÌý a thorough manner
It was also a good thing that a chunk of the discussion was deleted since it had no relative usefullness.Ìý It degenerated when one ( new ? ) guy posted insulting remarks about the host country in order to provoke a reaction from the locals and that's exactely what he got, a local with an easily irritable temper decided to respond in kind, leading to the usual result...
My humble opinion, hope I don't get banned/deleted/prosecuted...

i changed my mind .. i said all the guys here are really nice and helpful!
no .. welcome and be carful here and don't do my mistake by involving your self with bunch of s* people because there're a lot of them in here.
Example : maybe u'll find some one saying "good that a post had no relative usefulness has been deleted" while in the same time he/she's so far of being useful in the same post.
Also, be careful of making grammatical or spelling mistakes! It's a sin in here!

dude that example of yours literally flew off my head in a second after reading it.
You are at least in Palm City!!
I would start by checking out the Tripoli Expat women's group that is organized on Meetup.com.Ìý This women's group actually meets at Palm City once per month as well as doing many other things.Ìý Also, at the Palm City recreation centre many women drop in for water aerobics Monday and Thursday at 10 a.m. No swimming or prior experience required.
Welcome to Tripoli - Libya
Tripoli is nice place and interestingly you can visit madinah ( Old city ) in the heart of Tripoli and you can view the meditererean sea.

Thank you Sandra, I'm a member of the meetup group and have met some very nice ladies already. I will try the aquaerobics.
My wife and children are coming for two weeks and I am under orders to find them more stuff to do than last time. She has emailed me this Ladies that Lunch thing so reads this board.
I will ask her to get in touch, she wants to do some aerobic classes whilst here and would probably do something once a day with the children either join in or sit and watch (they dance and do gymnastics)
We were in GEMS in another country,Ìý how have you/your son found the school and life here?
Where are you living? Here in Palm City we have aerobics classes as well and things to do in the community. We like the GEMS school so far. Our sone has only been attending for a week now so not much to experience to judge from.
As far as life here, there isn't much for a woman to do. I have become part of the Tripoli Women's Group and is a good way to meet others.
