Fiber Optic Internet Availability

I have read about the Internet service limitations and thus impact on cost prior to this year.

To explain, in the past PY had to buy fiber access to the Internet from Brazil as PY was not connected directly to any of the Atlantic ocean fiber optic network.

In 2014 there were articles claiming that PY was investing to obtain their own direct connection to Atlantic Ocean cables and thereby be able to offer faster & cheaper Internet connectivity as soon as [some time in] 2016.

Does anyone have any recent information on this.聽 I have not been able to Google any updates so far.

Guess I am not the only one who has not heard a thing about it, but you may want to check Tigo internet service map on their site.聽聽Then plan your physical residence accordingly.
