How to get rid of Big ants?

Hi can anyone give me advise on how to get rid of the big sugar ants i dont even know whether its called that they are in my kitchen and sitting room.

Well, if they can't find food, they will disappear again. So you have to sweep and mop the floor every day. The garbage can have to be emptied every evening.
