Your best business development ideas in Hong Kong

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hi everyone,

As a foreign entrepreneur, launching a business in Hong Kong is a fantastic project and an exciting challenge. Some ideas are likely to succeed. Some others are promising but may not work as well as intended.

In your opinion, what kind of business or industry is likely to succeed in Hong Kong? What kind of industry or service currently unavailable or underdeveloped in the country would meet local needs?

On the other hand, what are the most common business types foreign entrepreneurs would be eager to launch in the country but with very little chance of success?

Thank you for your insights.
Priscilla

Hong Kong a shopping paradise that you can get any product there from Top class Luxury watch to tooth pick. Import export Business more potential in Hong Kong  that any product of  the any part of the world you can get a buyer in Hong Kong. its irrelevant that What kind of industry or service currently unavailable in Hong Kong  but better simply say everything is available in Hong Kong. but recently the variation of Hong Kong culture very visible since the Chinese influence. The Hong Kong was well known for its hospitality manners respect because of higher education but recently many places especially  sales and counter areas people complaint about rude attitude similar to main land people. in Hong Kong if you lost your way a Hong Kong citizen will guide you until you reach your target or their self  will open google map and will do all necessary assistance  for your smooth and convenient travel.  social behavior and Quality of Hong Kong residents is very high.

About my recent life experience in Hong Kong,

Weather: Experienced an abnormal bloody cold weather without domestic "heat" provided at the beginning of last year, following the entire warm winter this year,  I was shocked to see a long lining up, the kids who were accompanied by the elderly I could see the most, and rare the young 30's,  around every corner of  the clinics, or the hospitals. Also, with the recent foggy weather approaching towards Hong Kong (it was probably come from the north part of China I bet), the night vision of Victoria Harbor looked "blur" sometimes,  and it had threatened me from someone saying that covered by a mask could make you feel much better.
Working: Comparing with my home town in Ottawa (Canada), it is much easier for me to find jobs in Hong Kong, and I'm enjoying a high salary with low taxes. I've been working in IT based firm for couple of years. I've learned a lot from there indeed. Lunch with the local colleagues could be one of their political concerns to make yourself be one of them.
Shopping: Enjoying a cheaper price to buy any grocery or food stuff without sales tax.
Most of locals treat nice to me, and we sometimes go hiking in the weekends.

Have a nice day expat fans,
Sam.
