What really consider as cost of living in Dublin area

Post new topic

Hi all,

I've got a couple of opportunities in Dublin that I'm seriously evaluating. However, among the salary, I'm try to really calculate the net salary and cost of living.
Salary range is 70k-80k gross per year.
Using some online calculator I got an average of 4050 Eur/month net (using 75k as salary).
I understand that houses are really expensive compared to Italy (for info, I pay 650 Eur/month for a small independent house with 200mq of garden, 72mq of house with 1 bathroom, two bedrooms, kitchen and dining room + 2 underground car places ...28km from Milan)
What else should I consider or calculate?

thanks
DS

A lot of people use Numbeo to find out this information; this will take you to their website.

If you wan the same quality of living as in italy be prepared to have at least 2000 or more euros to fork out per month. Rental is far more expensive and you are lucky to get parking for 1 car. Also your overall expenses will be much more such as gas, food, electricity, phone, internet just to name a few. If you like dressing up and find clothing add that to your bill as well. a 2 bedroom flat is around 1300  or more euros with the bare basics outside of dublin city centre.

health insurance is quite expensive in Ireland as well, something to take in consideration.
